The difference between wrapped edge stainless steel mesh and rough edge stainless steel mesh

Apr. 02, 2025

There are generally two ways to process the edge of stainless steel mesh: wrapped edge and rough edge, but some people don't know the difference. Let's take a look:

In the direction of the width of the stainless steel mesh, that is, at both ends of the stainless steel wire mesh, the edge processing methods are different, usually divided into wrapped edge and rough edge. The so-called wrapped edge means that the two adjacent warp wires at both ends of the wire mesh are connected, while the two warp wires of the rough edge are not connected.

The biggest difference between these two processing methods of stainless steel mesh edges is that the wrapped edge wire is not easy to fall off, the structure is strong, the safety performance is high, and it is not easy to pierce the hand. The rough edge stainless steel mesh wire is easy to fall off, generally used for mechanical operation protection, and it is easy to pierce the hand during the handling project. The rough edge stainless steel mesh has a short processing time and relatively low cost, while the wrapped edge stainless steel mesh has a relatively long processing time and high processing cost.
